Nino Coniglio Pie Maker and Pizza Triathlete

Last night Blondie and I hit up the launch party for Edible Manhattan at the South Street Seaport. I've been a big fan of Edible Brooklyn (Blondie got me a subscription as a housewarming present!) and we're both pleased to see Manhattan get the edible treatment. Besides gorging on Doughnut Plant Doughnuts and Lox and Bagels from Russ and Daughters (more on that soon, I promise!), the highlight of our night was meeting Nino Coniglio, pizziaola from Il Brigante and member of the US Pizza Team. Fresh off his Pizza Triathalon win, I captured some videos of the pie tossing master at work...

Seriously, I've never seen anyone toss like this. Here's Nino at work (literally). This short vid was filmed at Il Brigante where Nino puts his tossing skills to work with real dough...


Blondie and I got a sample of this thin crust pie (we had a little piece of the olive section) and I can attest to it's deliciousness. I really want make a return trip to Il Brigante for more. What are you doing for dinner tonight, Blondie?
