Ever since I was a little Brownie, I've loved Nutella glasses. Before Nutella was widely available in the States, you could find it in Italian import stores and it came in these cool glass jars that could be reused as glasses. Now you get get Nutella at practically every grocery story and bodega. Alas, US distributed Nutella comes in plastic though. No nifty reusable glass. So I had to resort to importing them into the country myself. Oh, the lengths I've gone to bring Nutella glasses back to NYC...
So I was delighted to discover that DeLaurenti's Food Market in the Pike's Place Market actually sells the imported Nutella glasses!
Now what is so great about these Nutella glasses? Why isn't the good old American plastic jar good enough for you, Brownie? Well...the 200g glasses when emptied of their chocolate hazelnutty contents make the perfect tumbler. Just right for a glass of milk or juice. The glasses are pleasant to hold and I love the shape--classic and understated. It feels sturdy in your hands. And best of all...you get the two for one deal of Nutella and nice drinking glasses. Win-win.
Much like Welches, Nutella also occasionally puts cartoon characters on their glasses. Personally, I prefer the classic glass sans cartoons, but different strokes for different folks. The glasses will run you $5.99 each. Not cheap, but when you consider that you're getting the Nutella and a good quality drinking glass, it's not too bad.
