In case you haven't noticed, Blondie and I are huge Treats Truck fans. With the holidays quickly approaching we suspected that there might be some very special holiday treats on our horizon. And boy were we right...
Yesterday, to our delight, we discovered that Kim and co are beginning to roll out the holiday treats. She had a big tray of the delicious Pumpkin Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting that we tried out last week and Candy Cane Cupcakes in both vanilla and chocolate. Yippee! Blondie and I went for the Chocolate Candy Cane one and I think it takes the crown as my favorite cupcake from the Treats Truck thus far. The frosting had a great minty kick and it wasn't overly sweet--always a plus in my book. The cupcake itself was denser than I usually go for and yet with the frosting it worked well. Christmas Cupcake perfection.
Kim is going to be rolling out more holiday treats through out the week so you can look forward to holiday sugar cookies (frosted or/and with sanding sugar), gingerbread cookies, holiday decorated cupcakes, AND hot chocolate. Yes, if all goes well, there should be hot chocolate at the Treats Truck today.
Keep informed of the truck's location by calling (212) 691-5226, checking their Twitter, or visiting treatstruck.com.

These remind me of a cupcake place in Powell, OH (outside of Columbus) called the Pink Moon Cupcake Bakery. They sell a great chocolate cupcake with the same frosting. The frosting tasted like the inside of a Peppermint Patty with little crunchy bits of candy cane. What a great combination. Alas, this is only a seasonal treat for the Treats Truck otherwise I'd hope they'd be there for my spring trip. Enjoy them while you can.
Oh I can't wait to be in New York stuffing myself with cupcakes!
