Häagen-Dazs Free Scoop Day!

Honey bees don't always get the credit that they deserve. These hard working insects pollinate flowers that help us grow food and make the world more delicious. Häagen-Dazs loves honey bees and so do we. And today, Tuesday, May 12th, they are offering a free scoop of any of their Bee Built Ice Creams from 4:00-8:00pm at participating locations...

According to Häagen-Dazs' website "bee pollination is essential for ingredients in nearly 50 percent of their all-natural superpremium flavors." Imagine a world without berries and nuts and honey and mint and ginger, the list goes on and on.

This is the second year of the Häagen-Dazs loves Honey Bees® campaign and thus far they've donated a total of half million dollars to UC Davis and Penn State Universities for honey bee research over two years. And every time you buy a Häagen-Dazs ice cream bee-built product, a portion of the proceeds of the sale go toward helping the honey bees. So, stop by Häagen-Dazs and try the bee built flavors and get involved in helping the bees. Life is too short not to be delicious.

If last year (and the year before) are indicative, then midtown is unfortunately likely to be a dry scoop region, though Penn Station was one of the "did not answer" HD locations, so I suppose there's still hope that they might be participating in the promo.

thanx for making all the calls. Do you think it's going to be a mob scene in Queens?

I tried hitting up the Austin St. location in Queens yesterday with my wife and son but once we got there they said they weren't participating. We were so disappointed. Why wouldn't you participate in something like this? I was annoyed by their lack of interest so we went to Oko instead for some frozen yogurt. Yum!

Yes, George. I went to the same location. Why bother advertising it if not all locations are participating.

@Gar &George: Ugh, that's so lame. I hate when places say they are going to participate and then don't. When we called, the person who answered said that they were doing it. Such a bummer. Sorry you didn't get your scoops.

Side note: love Oko. Mmm, their mango froyo is so good.
