Crumbs is The New McDonald's

Latest Crumbs-Lex & 44th
During my walk to an ice cream lunch yesterday, I noticed Crumbs is still going strong with its world domination plans.

Yes, one of the latest Midtown Crumbs will be in the former For Eyes Optical spot on Lexington and 44th. The paper just went up yesterday and there's no opening date on their website, but I'm sure it will be soon. They have new store openings down to a science. There will now be three Crumbs within the vicinity of Grand Central station, the other two being the long-standing 42nd Street/Bryant Park store, and another newbie in the MetLife Building. And in case you work on the other side of Bryant Park, another new Crumbs will be opening on Broadway between 37th and 38th.

They've already invaded Hoboken and I fear they will drive the independent and previously established cupcake shop out of business. As my special lady commented when we walked by both the other day, "Sweet (the local place) doesn't have the enormous cupcakes like the other place (Crumbs)."

I still have yet to try sweet, but I dont fear for its safety. Crumbs has such hype for no reason- after multiple visits I havent found a cupcake there actually worth eating a second time. They are so worried about world domination and branding that they forgot taste is kind of important!

They must me stupid for renting that space at 420 lexington because as a former employee there I can tell you the place smelled really bad at times from the radiator towards the front of the store and the rent is now $44k a month...!!!
They will have to sell a lot of CRUMBS...!!!
