I've declared "No Pants Wednesday" is in effect at least until after Labor Day, amongst the cool ladies of my office. And where the fun in "No Pants Wednesday" if us ladies don't go out for happy hours after work? There isn't any. Lucky for us, today has at least two very promising drinky times.
First up, it's the annual Sixpoint Craft Ales event at Blind Tiger Ale House. Twenty beers including: "Sweet Action (draft and dry-hopped cask-conditioned), Brownstone (draft and cask-conditioned), Righteous Ale (draft and cask—conditioned), Apollo, Bengali Tiger, Blind Bengali Tiger (cask-conditioned and a little somthin’-somethin’), Otis, Express, Northern Lights, Belgian Rye, Belgian Double IPA, Emasculator, Gemini, Carob Porter, Gorilla Warfare, Righteous Ale 2005 Vintage (the original recipe), Tripel." And Murray's Cheese will be there to feed you because you shouldn't drink on a completely empty stomach. The party starts at 4pm.
Or if you're more in the mood to stay in Midtown, or perhaps need a cheap date idea, try to catch Big Rodent's presentation of William Shakespeare's Measure for Measure. Tickets are $20, but if you use the promotion code "NYCFOOD", you can get the tickets for $10!!! Ten Dollars!! AND $1 donations can get you Bud, Bud Light, or Coors Light, while $3 donations get you Stella, Blue Moon, or Heineken. I believe that's called an entire play and drinks date for under $30. Act quick on this one because the play's run ends this Saturday. Buy your tickets here.
