Farewell to the Summer Rock Center Greenmarket

DSC00012
I'm back from two weeks of glorious eating and sightseeing (and more eating) in the Italian motherland. You can expect lots of posts and photos of my food finds in the coming days, but in the meantime for those of you who are working a half or full day in midtown tomorrow, it's the last day of the summer greenmarket at Rock Center, so head over a pick up a sandwich from Katchkie, some gelato from Valley Shepherd Creamery, and some fresh fruit. You might just spot a Today Show anchor in the process...

For someone who lives in New York, I'm pretty bad a celeb spotting. I once walked by Kevin Bacon, practically stumbled over Steve Buscemi, and it took me about 5 subway stops to realize that the "really familiar looking guy" across from me on the subway was Lester Holt. So it's not particularly surprising that I was intently photographing fruit and flowers at the Rock Center Greenmarket when I noticed that Hoda Kotb in my view finder checking out the peaches across the way.

I'm more of a nectarine gal myself, but the peaches do look awfully good.

Same here - I prefer nectarines over peaches, probably because of the crunch factor. Looking foward to seeing your Italy trip photos.
