This year's SWEET at the New York Wine and Food Festival was scaled back from last year's event but that didn't stop the party. If anything, the event was a little bit more manageable which meant more opportunities for noshing and of course, chef sightings. Here are our highlights....
One of the highlights of the evening was Johnny Iuzzini from Jean Georges modeling the display pomegranates that were part of the presentation for his Godiva Chocolate and Black Sesame Pop with POM Gelee. Blondie thought the pops were tasty, too...
Ron Ben-Israel with his giant cake...
Blondie was in love with Ron Ben-Israel's Pumpkin Cake with Frangelico Mascarpone Butterream Cinnamon Pecan Crunch.
Champagne was free flowing...
The Peppermint Hot Chocolate from Stanton Social was amazing. Very rich and chocolate-y.
One of my very favorites was Del Posto’s Chocolate & Olive Oil Bastoncino. It was basically a little gelato ice cream pop covered in chocolate and bread crumbs.
So freaking good. I wish I had snagged two!
David Burke Townhouse made a Godiva Chocolate & Peanut Butter Pudding with Homemade “Cracker Jacks” Mmmm. Cracker Jacks...
One of Blondie's favorites of the night was the Concorde Grape Soda with Ricotta Gelato from Eighty-One...
One of the most unusual desserts of the night was more cupcake's Bacon White Truffle Cupcake. Bacon cream frosting topped with truffles. Real truffles...
Another big winner of the night, tied with Del Posto for dessert perfection in my book was the Honey Crisp Apple Confit with Smoked Vanilla Sable and Ginger Emulsion from Daniel. The apples were melt in your mouth delicious. Fall in dessert form...
I love the chocolate banana combo and Rouge Tomate kicked it up a notch with their Fall Spiced Banana with Godiva Chocolate Ganache.
In the dark I didn't manage to get a shot that captured the utter deliciousness of Locanda Verde's Toasted Brioche Pumpkin Gelato Ice Cream Sandwich. This is another one I wished I had had time for seconds.

Oh my god... All this chocolate. Ending? Me drooling over my computer...
Oh my god, this is like heaven!
All of that chocolate is giving me a sugar rush!
I kind of wish I could have gone to that. But hey, in just a few weeks I get to have Ron Ben-Israel teach me (yell at me) how to make decorative semi-edible flowers! Oh the joys of pastry school...
