Madison Square Eats before they close this Friday. Of course, numerous blogs and websites have given the rundown of everything available, my favorite run-down being the one on Midtown Lunch. Madison Square Eats has been running since the beginning of May, and it took me three weeks to find the time to lunch there. Knowing that one of the best pizza places in town, Roberta's, was there totally sweetened the deal for me.
Roberta's, even though it has been on my "to-do" list for a while now. When I saw that their Bee Sting pizza was being offered, I had a feeling it was what I was going to get. A spicy sopressata pizza topped with chili flakes, then drizzled with honey, I thought it was more spicy than sweet. But totally good, even when made in their portable oven. If you're a fan of the Hellboy at Paulie Gee's, you need to go try out this spiciness.
Madison Square Eats is going on until Friday, 11am to 9pm on Broadway and Fifth Avenue between 24th and 25th Street.
