Le Paddock to Open Soon in Windsor Terrace

New French Bistro

Laura's Gourmet on the corner of Prospect Ave and Reeve has been mysteriously empty for a good several months. It turns out after many years in the neighborhood the owners decided to close. But fear not Windsor Terraceans! Le Paddock, a French bistro and wine bar will be popping up in it's place...

The restaurant is already equipped with a brick oven from its previous incarnation as an Italian restaurant so you can expect to see pizza on the menu along with other seasonal and local fare. They'll be serving dinner 7 nights a week and brunch on the weekend. I had a chance to peek in and talk to the co-owner's wife and saw that they are doing some beautiful renovations that will give it a rustic yet modern vibe. The outside has already gotten a nice new coat of paint. Initially I had heard they were aiming to open in early October, but according to their blog, the third week in September is looking like a possibility. With the addition of Brooklyn Commune, Piccoli to Go and Steeplechase Coffee just over the bridge the Kensington/Windsor Terrace dining scene has never looked more promising.

This place is now called bistro on the park which was formerly called l & J bistro which was formerly known as lauras. She has changed her names so many times that I wonder if it's for bankruptcy purposes.

Not sure the backstory on the previous restaurant, but this is definitely under new ownership now. The new owners are renting the space from the previous owners.
