I’ve blogged about how much I adore the scones at Alice’s Teashop, but I’ve never mentioned my love for their lunchtime fare especially their tea smoked chicken salad . . .
To me Alice’s Teacup ranks up there with the ultimate girly spots in the city. They serve tea. They serve killer scones.
They serve cute cupcakes and cakes. Alice’s is no one trick pony. Their savory menu options are actually really, really tasty, too.
My go-to lunch here is the Lapsang Souchong Smoked Chicken Breast ($15) on mixed greens with sliced tea-infused eggs, granny smith apples, and crispy carrots in their signature ginger soy dressing. The tea adds a pleasant earthy flavor to the chicken breast. It’s a decent sized salad, one that won’t leave you starving but you’ll have plenty of room to enjoy a cuppa (and who am I kidding, a caramel topped pumpkin scone). The dining room tends to be a mix of ladies who lunch and moms with kids (and depending on the time of the school year, there may be more or less kiddos in the mix). Alas, they don’t take reservations unless your party is huge, so go early if you want to get a table. I’m partial to Alice’s Chapter II on Lexington and 64th street.
